For this you need :

AK or variant folder any country is good

550 cord or equivalent
sharp knife
small awl or screw driver
wire cutters
coat hanger

To start with have good spot to work.

Clear the weapon making sure there is no ammo in it or a round stuck in chamber.

Lay rifle with the side you want wrapped up and the sights pointed up away from you.

Next take the 550 cord and anchor the standing end(this is the end we are not using)

Okay with that done we will be able to apply pressure to the cord as we work to keep things tight.
Know take the working end (the one we are using ) go over the stock rail and through the loop we
made around the rail.

Know go under the rail and though the loop we made.

We want to keep pulling tight as we work or this will fail to stay secure.

We will repeat this until we have a rail covered the way we want

next we will cut a coat hanger to make a fishing wand.

Use the wand to pull one end or the other thorough the rail channel.

Know tie them together or wrap one of the around the other a couple of wraps.
If you tie them hard and fast here we will need the awl or screw driver to adjust the slack out of our lines.

Know we will pull it  into the channel working it back and forth until it is tight on both ends and wedged in the channel.

Cut both ends short enough to  stuff them back into the channel.

We are done know go shoot it.

I will add pictures shortly
