I can't believe no one's jumped on this either: www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=43284865 |

Okay, I'm an AR guy, so educate me. Are those prices high? Is the WASR the one that only takes single stack? The '74 doesn't seem high to me, but again, I am an AR guy. Don't like the Ace stock on it but other than that?

That or GAUD. |
I believe this pertains to the phrase "friends don't let friends Tapcoize their AK".
Mostly these are good taste protocol violations. Many here, like myself, appreciate AKs for what they are, and have no desire to emulate an AR with their AKs. Tapco is the anti-christ. While I for one am eager to see a modernized AK done in good taste, that ain't it. Grenadier Precision has done some cool stuff, IMO. The Poles have some neat new guns. There are probably others. |
Here's a nice folder.
Man, I think that's one of TravisAasan's projects, he'sjust afraid to post it in the EE.
Okay, thanks for the info guys. I agree, the AK looks best left alone, even the AR doesn't need all thew stuff some people put on.

Just for the record, commie optics on commie guns is still okay, right?
yes, the Russian designed stuff, like optics, AKS side folder stock, tac lights is pretty nifty in my opinion. Some like to just stick to the bare-bone AK. No optic (even if it's a 74M), or anything of that nature. -mark |
"AK74 Urban Tactical Rifle 5.45x39 mm" "tactical" to me means "useless bling". What urban tactics is it exactly that rifle can do but my AK can't? |
Those first few auctions are some nasty crap.
At least that last folder is "true to form" so to speak. |
The optic on the first won't even survive normal range use on an AK...
Look very closely at how that AMD folder is attached. |
oh my god it's machine screwed onto the fixed stock tang!! |
that's kind of sad since I know the seller on the AMD folder WASR.
They're a very respected dealer in W. Houston, and I bought my first bushmaster from them. |
They might be, but on their auctions, they come off as assholes. Quote from auction: "FAQ" "No I am not the original owner" "No I do not know when most were made" "No I do not know how many rounds have been fired through it" "Last time I checked they quit manufacturing bullet counters" "Yes you receive everything seen in pictures, except red sheet" |
Translation for the AR - guys:
Imagine buying up plastic Tapco "rail system" handgaurds, mounting the most cheapo ChiCom site you can find (leapers?), ad a $20 lazer sight, $20 copy of a Surefire, add some crap, knock off of a Vortex flash hider, a sling made from old deat belts and installing it all on the Olympic Arms $500 "plinker" model and advertizing it as: "Just like the guns on the frontlines in Irak! Super-tactical, absolute tack-driving, weather proof, "match grade" AND "professional grade" (both) sniper AND CQB, Ranger/Special Forces/Seals/SOCOM blast-o-matic carbine; VERY RARE and available to you for the FIRST TIME only $2000!!!" - that is about the level of fraud that these Kalashnikov butchers are trying to pull. |
some guys that work there do come off that way, luckily they've never helped me in a sale. people in Houston like them because they're one of the few private dealers that actually has affordable prices, and they carry odd caliber ammunition like 5.45 and swiss 7.5x55 at about the same rate as it would cost to buy it online. It's hard to find a private dealer (gunshop) anymore that aren't total carnies, ripping you off, telling you their guns were used by SS soldiers in Stalingrad, or Vietcong guerillas or bs like that. So when you do happen to come across a reputable dealer, you take advantage of that oppurtunity. But what was said in the add doesn't really surprise me. |
Urban refers to the fact that the rifle has never left the city. Tactical means the rifle has a nice sense of tact. It will likely not offend anyone, or cause a disturbance. Put the two together, and you have a pretty-boy rifle that is afraid to get tough. |
Those rifles are butt ugly... the basterds... my AK owns them all anyway.
Oh... UTR= Utterly and Totally Retarded ETA: is that an SKS vented handgaurd crammed onto an AK gas tube? LOL dude they dont even match up in the second link! |
This goober is always slapping crap on WASR's and trying to pass them off as some kind of uber-tactical killing machine. I see his auctions but I never see any bids - go figure He's probably the idiot who always try to sell WASR-10's at the gun show for $439 |
Not a bad deal at all..................
if you are an "operator" (with at&t ) by day and a ultra tacky, I mean tactical terrorist hunter by night. Hell....I almost placed a bid on it myself. |
Where can I get a "wicked looking straight gas tube", does that count as 1 US part?
isnt it also upside-down preventing it from being fired while stock is closed? |
I wonder if that cetme bayonet comes with it for the ultimate package
Not upside down.. Just not right.. |
Extra deadly when mounted in this fashion. Under 21? Dont even think about it. You couldn't handle such a mean machine. Quote from auction: "MUST BE 21 TO BUY" |
The scary thing about that AMD folder...... people actually bid on it! I've seen it as high as $300. The reserve price hasn't been met, though. How much does he want for that POS?
It means an abomination(or something closely resembling it...) like this is in use by gang-bangers "on the blocks in South-Central L.A." to: #1)- Acquire funds at the corner "Stop & Rob" #2)- Attempt to eliminate competitors in "the sales business" #3)- Intimidate people who are not members of their social circle It has a folding stock so it's easy to manipulate in a vehicle while trying to evade "the Five-Oh"...and the replacement parts are actually of lower quality and perform worse than the original parts that were on the rifle. |
+1 never had a problem with them at all. good people while i was in iraq i had all the firearms i bought online sent there to be transfered to me when i got back home because the are 15min away from where my mom lives/lived my folks are getting a place between there shop and the shooting range at the G.W.B. park,...............in fact that is basically how they told me where there new place was. i would not buy either of those rifles,.....well maybe the sidefolding wasr,....can always use a parts gun to rape. but it would have to be less than what there asking for it now. |
You mean you don't have one? All the cool kids do! |
Sweet Jesus! |
My first post here...........it makes me feel as if I was in a bar and kissed a HOT chick and then found out she was a HE. Maaaan!!!!!! |
Thems are purrty! |
but with that folder you are supposed to be able to fire in a closed position right? |
Just contacted the sellers and both rifles come with 21" gold rims.
