I want to spend under $500 for my first AK, 7.62x39. I heard atlanticfirearms is a good place to buy but they have a few in my price range. which one would you pick and why?

Go with a WASR GP 10 best buy for the money. Do some research, make sure your gas block, and front site are somewhat straight. With the extra cash buy yourself a few extra mags and a case of ammo. I have two currently and they both run great. I have not had any problems what so ever. Some people dont like the fact that the receiver has no "dimples", I dont find this to be an issue. It's purely cosmetic.

Just remember... "I love me that steel cased Russian ammo".

What I mean is steel cased Ruskie ammo like Silver Bear is really cheap! So cheap in fact that you can't really save money by buying the brass cased stuff and reloading it.

You should be able to find a decent AK for about $300. Even in liberal wasteland AW ban ny state I found one for that price.

The Romanian WASR's seem to be the most common in that price range.
