almost finished with polish underfolder kit on atf papered receiver.action cycles like glass, and everything works.trigger kit is tapco.trigger will lock and release but bolt doesn't push hammer back down into trigger hooks far enough to reengage.hammer lacks about 1/16 and can be pushed into trigger hooks with very little effort at rearmost point of bolt carrier protrusion.any ideas?hate to start filing on hammer hooks already...thanks

kit didn't come with trigger for some reason, that's why i bought the tapco group.which engages the hammer first, the disconnector or trigger?i found one other post where a guy did minor filing on hammer(where the disconnector engages) to cure this problem.
yeah.member since 2001.i ususally find what i need in the forums, and when a controversy arises, the posts ususally reflect what i'm thinkin,so  i don't usually reply.

I'm not sure if I am understanding you correctly (too early in the morning), but if I am, then it sounds a lot like a problem I had right after I installed my first Tapco G2 FCG.  I didn't think I needed that little hollow bushing/tube thing that came with the G2 FCG.  Once I took the FCG apart and put that piece in, all problems were solved.

Could you give us a picture or something? I just cant figure out what this really means. the bolt and carrier all the way into the rear wardposition should push the hammer ALL THE WAY DOWN. There should be no problem. i just cant picture in my mind what the situation is. BUT you should mention a few things. #1 what kind of AK is it? what caliber? and did you buy the right Trigger group? I know that the 5.56 requires a different tapco group or at least a special hammer as well. not sure about 5.45.

Oh well--as they say..you assemble an ar15,but you must build an ak!..so true,so true
