gas piston/rod a little loose with carrier

[ARCHIVED THREAD] - gas piston/rod a little loose with carrier

It's been a long time since I sold my WASR, so this new AK74 from Chris B. is pretty much new to me (in terms of AK knowledge/functionality).

The gas rod/piston that is connected to the carrier seems a little loose. I can't remember if the one on my WASR was also loose, or firmly connected to the carrier.

If it is not supposed to be a little loose, how and what tool can I tighten it with. I looked down the carrier and see some kind of screw, but not a flat head or phillips.

It is designed to be loose. You can neither loosen or tighten it, it is blind pinned. Its as it should be.

It's suppose to be a little loose.

Your WASR piston was probably tight because the angry beavers at Century Arms don't know what they're doing and they solder it.

I had one that was just screwed into the bolt carrier. Not pinned.

Just be sure that condition does not exist.

Loose is otherwise fine.
