is your wasr-10 a high capacity or low capapacity single stack model?

the low cap model utilizes a romanian threaded and pinned in place gas piston. a little wobble is quite normal for this type of construction.


if it is a high capacity model with the threaded and welded in place stainless steel, american made gas piston then wobble is an indication the weld has broken.

not that this is ever likely to cause you or the rifle any grief...and, indeed, may improve the function of your wasr, do keep an eye on the front of your bolt carrier. if the weld completely shears, it is remotely possible that the gas piston could unthread itself over time.
