WASR is a ak47. It is a romanian built gun that is converted to hi-capacity and stuff by century arms. 344$ out the door is a pretty good price for it,

the wasr high capacity conversion is the 'bargain basement' of akm's.
they start at $289 at my local gun shows. your area may be higher. be careful to hand select one for straight sights/gas block and a reasonable finish . all other deficiencies can usually be corrected fairly easily and for not a whole lot of money. the wasr makes a great 'first ak' or a good plinker or truck gun. they can also be reworked into very nice akm clones if you ever desire to upgrade or change the style around a bit. |

The WASR is okay. I just sold mine to get into a non-ban gun but wouldn't hesitate to buy one again.
One nice thing about the WASR is that it comes with a side rail for a scope mount. This is not available on some AK's and if it is available it usually costs extra. It is worth considering putting optics of some kind on an AK because the iron sights are not great. |
