Hello all I usually spend most of my time here at  retro black rifle but lately I started looking at my ak collection I have ignored for some time. maybe time to start paying attention again.  My question is concerning my two Arsenal 106 rifles. One has a BD46  serial and is a FR106R and the other is a 106CR gun with an AB47 serial ,,  which is newer and how does one read the Bulgarian alpha prefix numbers.  Thank you in advance for any help on this subject.   I still love my ak rifles but get sidetracked  sometimes......  tx for any info...

My understanding is the BD is the newest prefix. How well does the AB shoot? Seems like I read that the AB prefix had feeding problems.

I also have a new 106CR with the AB prefix.  I have read about all the horror stories on early versions.  I emailed Arsenal with my serial number and they told me It was manufactured in 2014.  It feeds fine with Gen2 circle10 bulgy mags.

My fr106 shoots fine with  circle 10 mags and I don't remember the 106CR having any feeding issues either but I always use good mil spec bulgy mags , I do remember that I bought some bulgy clear 20 round mags and had some feeding issues  but the gun was brand new at the time I don't think I have had any issues the last time I shot it.  The 20 round clear mgs are NOT mil spec but the black 30 round are they  have metal lining at the feed lips clear did not but I think the new ones do.  I hope to here from others out there who have the 106 guns and their experiences with them,  tx  Matt

Sorry for the necro-post, but finally got to try my 106CR out last night. It's an AB prefix, and I had no issues feeding brass ammo (couldn't shoot steel indoors) from the circle 10 mags. I've got a black and a smoke 30, and they both ran fine.
