I finally got around to watching the "Tales Of The Gun" episode about the AK-47 today on the History Channel. I was never aware that Mikhail Kalashnikov was opposed to the AK-74 and disliked the 5.45 round. It also had a nice film clip of an informal get-together between him and Gene Stoner.

yeah, that is a good one! It was neat to see how Stoner said they wanted bigger mags when they saw the AK, and MKT was less impressed with the smaller bullet.
