I know you can buy "diminished capacity" and standard 25 round .308 GALIL mags from www.cdnninvestments.com

www.subguns.com and www.sturmgewehr.com are good places to look for actual Yugo mags
Good luck.

If you're handy with a welding or brazing torch you can convert M-14 mags without too much effort.  Simply involves adding tabs front and back and grinding them to spec.

You can convert Galil 7.62x51mm NATO magazines fairly easily, and it's legal too as they will still function in a Galil.

You need to remove some metal from the rear, and shorten the feed lips.

I've done it before and the magazines work like a champ.

The height from the rear locking lug of the Galil magazine to the top edge of the rear of the mag body needs to be made about 1/2", with a slight tilt to the right.

Hope that helps.

The last actual Yugoslav 7.62x51mm magazine I saw sold for $225.00 in about 15 minutes.

Beware the cheap USA brand/style magazines, even the ones that Mitchell foisted out on their customers.  Real Yugoslav magazines have 3 ribs running vertically on the mag body, the cheap-ass one have two and kind of look like M14 magazines.

Thanks Guys, guess I better steer my attention away from that beautiful Pre ban .308 yugo.
Bummer!

I need to correct my post by saying I was thinking about .308 Galil 25 round mags for $89 each brand new...not Yugo sorry.

Yugo mags are very hard to find and the two links other than CDNN are where you might find them.

Are you sure Campy?  I think you might be talking about USA converted M-14 mags, which are quite common, and work 'OK'...I've used modified Galil mags too, and they're OK.  Keep looking..I paid $170 shipped for 2 25rd genuine mags (most I ever paid, but was happy to get a couple).

take care,
Tec

Are we talking about mags for the 308 Saiga conversion? If so I'm interested in this mag conversion. Campy where can I find mags like you are talking of (USA)

If yoo alter a m14 mag to fit a saiga aren't you now breaking the law? Cuase it now won't fit in the org. rifle

Not familiar with this exact conversion but: If the mag still functions in the original gun, then mods to make it work in another gun are legal. This accounts for the new AR10B using mod M14 mags.

yeah  USA made the Yugo 308 mags and they work, most of them anyway.  I have  3 and two work great and one was a sometimes mag.  Great rifles by the way, get it anyway befor the new ban get passed, sep 2004  and all of you can't ship mags to any state,  it's gonna happen.  GM

USA did not make the Mitchell 308 AK mags.  Mitchell did sell USA mags rebranded as Mitchell at one point and they worked ok.  There are real non USA mags out there and they are the ones to look for.  Last ones I saw sell for $200 each.  I would give you the dealers name but he no longer sells mags because he lives in Ca.

Thanks again guys. I gave up on the Yugo looked like a damn nice rifle, but couldn't find mags. I went to Camp Perry today. Al from Al's Custom was there selling DPMS. Got a great price on the DPMS .308
Randy, the owner of DPMS was there. Both great guys, nice rifles.
