Well, I received my Yugo RPK and Romy underfolder kit today from Copes. I am very pleased with the Yugo. All numbers match and the bore has strong rifling, with light frost in the groves. 1986 vintage. The only disappointment is that the rear sight block is not marked "Zastava Yugoslavia" like I thought it would be. It is one heavily built rifle. You could definitely use it as a club if need be. I'll be cutting a check to Harlen this week.
I'm not as excited about the Romanian. 1970 arrow in triangle. Finish is very worn. Bore is bright and clean. All numbers match except the gas tube. The disappointment is the split upper wood. Its in two pieces. The rivets are removed and even the mag catch on the trigger guard is disassembled. The kit is very dirty. My hands were black after looking it over.

One of my Yugo UFs didn'y have the Zastava on the site block. Its a bummer without it. It gives it some character when it is there.

Love that Romy UF.
Anyone know when the Romanians switched to stamped arm UFs?

They are definatly milled, I got the same stock from CFS the other month.
Just need to know when they switched so I can get the right year kit.

EDIT: Where's ASH, Robert?

You mean my Avatar?

I change it out every once in a while.

Switched from Ash:

Yes, the stock is milled, not stamped. From the description over the phone, I was expecting the Romy to be in a little better condition. The split handguard is the pits. I'm not for sure if its the best $200 I ever spent. I'm debating on this one. I can't keep my hands off the Yugo kit. It impresses me everytime I pick it up.

Roger already offered to send me a replacement handguard. Now that is service. This was my first purchase from Copes, but I don't believe it will be the last. Thanks, Roger.

The stock is not milled on mine. It is a round piece of tubing that is "smashed" to form the clearance for the selector lever. The outside apearance is similar in shape, but not the same.

Cool shit!
