I know this is the wrong fourm, but i recently odered a yugo sks from my local gun dealer.  I just bought 200 rds of wolf FMJ, it says it none-corrosive and burdan primed.  Is the burdan primer corrosive?  Are these rounds safe for my gun?

Any information would be much appriciated, Thanks.

Probably very good for yopur gun. I use it in 3 different sks's 2 twenty inch and one 16 inch D model and 3 different AK's . It functions perfectly in all the above. Never had a problem of any kind. Also quite accurate. I get best groups at any range with hallow pts. Have a great day.

I've shot lots of Wolf in my SKS and never had a problem.  I'm going to shoot all the rest I have in my AK (maybe the SKS too) this weekend.  In my experience, it goes bang every time and cycles the action reliably.

Smells like a Vladivostok outhouse in summer though, but what do you expect?

it is safe to shoot, considering the SKS, like most other com block rifles are designed to use laquered steel case ammo just like wolf. wolf is non corrosive.

Fire away.  You shouldn't have any problems.

I've fired a shit-load of ithrough my WASR and never had a problem with it.
Although my gas piston was in serious need of  a good cleaning afterwards.More so than when I use Winchester or American Eagle ammo.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure.  The $15 a box stuff is great for hunting, but thatd be expensive plinking, and at 320 a box, wolf seems very good to me.  Considering .222 ammo is like $16 a box, i gusse .223 is more popular or something?

But yeah, i just wasnt sure seeing as the yugo is not crom-lined.  But thanks, now if my gun wuld just come in... By the end of the month they said, thats geting close.

I've got near 4000 rounds through my Saiga 7.62x39

Not a single failure. Alot of it was just bumpfiring.

My AK is a Yugo, and Wolf is all I've ever put through it.

You're good to go!

between my sks and my mak-90 and other ak's that is the only type of ammo that i have or will shoot through them. steel case wolf, golden tiger, silver bear etc.  as a matter of fact the wolf 154gr sp's are the most accuarte i have found in the ak. wolf ammo is not corrosive. no it will not hurt your gun, as a matter of fact those types of guns were designed around the steel cased ammo that is the ammo that those countries that use the ak use. steel cased ammo. that's like shooting m855 in an ar.
