I can get a brand new mak 90 barrel and was wondering if it would work. Also is $50 too much the barrel? Thanks

Good price on the barrel, but they are made to different specs.

A really good gunsmith could make it work for you, but it would cost about the same as a new SAR-1

 The SAR 1 barrel shank is 23mm while the chinese barrel shank is 19mm. Your options are to sleeve it, or change the trunnion.

 It can be made to work, but for the hassle it would be better to find a euro 7.62 barrel for the changeover.
