I bought one in 2000 and hated it. Because the handle is canted I ground my fingers bloody on the rear site more than a few times. I was told by the dealer there were threads under the muzzle cap, was disapointed when i got it off to find none. the cleaning rod would pop out of place after the first round. Ended up dumping it for what I paid for it. Am way confused at why people are asking near a grand for em. Anyone know??hinking.gif

Thats the one that sparked this post. All the ones I've seen for sale in the last few years have been well over $500. Most are closer to the GB auction price....

How is the 992 different from the MkII?

I'm not completly sure. I know the 992 has that awful canted carrier handle. I heard somewhere that they were the last of the "all romanian parts" rifles? Which still doesn't justify the price difference. You would still need to buy the 5 compliance parts to have the cool stuff installed....

The Romaian 992 was imported by Dominon Investment Group(DIG) in 1999 hense the first two digets in the model name. It used a single stack 10rd magazine. The MK II was imported in 1997 by ACC/INTRAC and used hi cap mags. Both were imported with thumbhole stocks but some of them had US parts added by the importers to have pistol grips and/or conveted to use hi cap mags.
The reason these models used different type magazines is one was imported before and the other after this ruling on the features allowed on the imports of semi auto rifles.
