OP's best bet is to use a Hungarian pattern receiver with Hungarian underfolder stock with his Russian parts kit, assuming he's wanting a a Soviet AKMS clone. Apparently, the Hungarian stock is "more correct," as is the milled-type Polish trunnion, which is hard to find. Given the recent influx of Hungarian parts and their low cost, I'd go that route.
Assuming he's starting with a Russian kit, it would behoove him to not settle on a flat.
