I've been hankering for a AK for a while now, and have decided that the SAR 1 is the best compromise between price, weight, quality, etc. A local gun dealer has a few in stock, but want $380 for it PLUS the NYS %8 sales tax...BS! So i want to know where i can get one offline of recent manufacture ( i hear 2001/ 2002 have typically been high quality production years) and guaranteed not to have canted sights. . .that was the main reason that i wanted to buy my AK in person. And of course, for less than $380

$ 279 at AIM, plus shipping and whatever an FFL will charge you to bring it in, if you are in central NY I could give you some idea as to FFL costs.

Just had my boss pick me up a new SAR-1 from AIM this weekend.

They look pretty decent right now.

I've only bought one crate of ammo from them, but these guys have prices similar to AIM and have some different stuff. They still have those RPK based Dragunov look alikes and are selling them for $ 700 (I have no idea why I want one of those stupid things). They send out a flyer every month or so, even if you don't buy much from them it's fun to flip through. Their website is pretty lame, though.

Centerfire had 'em listed in the flyer I got last week for $ 279 or something like that.

Are you talking about the Romak III (now called the SSG97)?

My dads is a tack driver. I highly recomend one.

Yup! That's it. But I'm trying to talk myself OUT of buying one, telling me that it even cooler than I thought is not helping!
