Im looking at buying an AK or SKS (maybe both) and Im trying to figure out whats considered an acceptable group at 50 or 100 yds.  I know I wont be shooting sub MOA or anything, but I'd like to know what to expect.

I can usually hold five rounds in two inches at fifty yards with the open sights on my AKs.

It's Hit or Miss , no pun intended

I have a Chinese SKS that consistently groups 3" or less @100 yds . while my Yugo is lucky to keep them all on the paper .
As for AKs , The Madi and the SLR 101,  I have are in the 3-5" zone while the clean looking WSAR with straight sights and a nice looking bore is absolutely crap past 50 yds.

After many grueling tests I have found that any group that's in  the eyeball to asshole range is generally quite effective!!

Kidding aside..., my 5.45x39 is pretty consistant @ 4 MOA

My 7.62x39 usually runs a might larger!

I hear ya' brother...., the best lookin' Ak's are the ones that have hit the dirt a time or ten, and been around the block a few times!!!
