I have been using AKs on counter strike for yeats, if you are shooting groups larger than a half inch at two hundred yards you are doing somethign wrong!


Actually I am a half decent shot, by no means should I be considered an outstanding marksman, or even a particularly good shot, and I feel that the Ak is a good match for my skill level, With either of my ARs (both have 20" Colt Barrels), I have no trouble shooting inch and a half groups all day long. With my AKs I normally shoot three to four inch groups, if I really try, the ammo is good, and I am having a good day I can get two and a half to three and a half inch groups with my Hungarians.

ETA: My SAR1 with wolf can regularly get three and a half to four and a half inch groups, and it has a canted FSB.

There are some results posted in the ammo forum. Mainly 4moa, with a few exceptions better and plenty worse.

After reasing some of these posts, I feel that I am right in my thinking the AK platform is actually well matched to my abilities, as humble as they are. The AK's are about the only gun that I believe that I can shoot better than the guns are capable of shooting, but even then they are plenty accurate for thier intended purpose. I have also found them to be great for killing White Tail at modest ranges, with and without optics. It doesn't even phase me when I drop my AK with crappy Russian scope, I want to cry when I drop my Remington 700 with walnut stock and a four hundred dollar scope (I have never dropped it, but I know how I would feel seeing scrapes and dings in that finely finished stock).
