I've heard that Tennessee Guns brought in 3,000 to 5,000 AMD-63 kits in excellent condition, and they went to Centerfire.
Brand new M70 kits, both underfolder and fixed stock, are due in before the ban. |
I heard the kits that Centerfire got were not AMDs but "Export" versions, IE regular AKMs. |
From what I heard from at friend at Century Arms, they just received 20,000 Yugo M70 (fixed and folders). They also received a large batch of yugo RPKs. They also received a buttload more of the Romanian PKMs, with a possiblity of future batch of Yugo PKMs.

I ordered one two days ago and was told it was an AMD-63. Whats the word on this? |
Centerfire calls them AMD63's but they aren't, they don't have the AMD style handguard or the front vertical grip.
They look like a regular AKM with a single AMD style wooden pistol grip on the back, from the pictures I've seen. |
Darn... I really wanted an AMD-63...
Does anybody know if I pull the front parts off an AMD-65 I can build an AMD-63 clone out of one of those kits? I have an AMD-65 pistol that I have thought about putting wood on so perhaps a parts swap would get me close... It also seems like I have seen more 1919a4 and Thompson SMG parts kits available lately... Thompsons were impossible to find in th epast and now I see them again... Not that I want to spend the money myself... Anybody in the know have a good source for a nice Milled AK kit to learn on? I have a couple polish kits on the way but if I could I would like to find a nich Hungarian Milled kit as a "training build" before I touch my polish kits.... this whay I will ether learn I can do it or learn I cant before messing with my most prized AKs. |
The AKM export model is probably actually better for most. The AMD vertical grip is an aquired taste. |
Nope, the 65 gas tube is shorter than a 63 |
From what I heard, the FAL's aren't actually being imported, but were the ones seized by the ATF from PWA a while back. Not 100% sure if it is true or not. www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_061903WABgunseized.c5d3507.html |

BulletBait and DDiggler,
As I stated before, I ordered what CFS calls an AMD-63. If they're not, are they what FEG shipped in as the SA-85M before the ban on non-sporting firearms? You guys have the info and have "seen" pics. PLEASE fill me in because I don't expect the person taking orders to know the difference. |
There is clear info at gunco.Lois posted and stated they are not 63's.No forward grip. They look like higher quality romys. spelling |
Those hungarian Aks better be like new condition for $180 w/sling atleast.
What a profit margin! I've been in the wrong line of work. 8,000 FALs? Send them to my house |
Who will have these? Any guess on price? |

Thanks for the link. I ordered 2 kits. The SA85 I already have is top quality so these kits should make some good rifles. |

What do you guys thing about his FEG?
Significantly different enough to get one? Polish UF seems to be a better deal. |
According to the polish mechanic down at my buddy's shop, they're better guns too. Of course he then went on to regale me with stories of headshots on targets at 800 meters. He's a funny guy, that Vlad. |

Matching # unfired new 5.45mm Bulgarian AKSU-74's.
Dear Friends, After months of hard work and relentless efforts, K-Var does it again! As promised K-Var employees, buyers, and board members will work tirelessly to provide our patrons with the best quality and newest parts available. Due to the new BATF ruling on barrels, our latest shipment of 5.45x39.5 caliber AKS-74U parts sets was time sensitive. In order to acquire these parts sets to our valued customers we had to overcome numerous difficulties. • The BATF barrel ban importation deadline of September 10th, 2005 made our task seem impossible. • We decided to take a gamble and go for it, in hopes that we could import the Krinkov kits before the deadline. We voiced our opposition about the September 10th deadline with the Fair Trade Group and were successful in getting the deadline extended to December 31st, 2005. • To add more obstacles to our mission, the Krinkov kits were not available from the military surplus. • As a result we purchased brand new rifles from Arsenal Bulgaria’s factory stock. • Properly and accurately de-milling the Krinkov kits without drilling out the rivets. • In order to preserve the quality and integrity of the parts during the de-milling process we had to ask the BATF for a variance to enable us to deviate from normal de-milling procedures. The factory created custom jigs and worked long hours around the clock to de-mill these Krinkov kits. • Obtaining an export permit during Bulgaria government elections, when an export committee was not functioning. • This created a major problem, staying in constant communication with Bulgaria; we were eventually able to receive an export permit. • The embargo placed by the ocean freight lines on weapons, related parts, and ammunitions from the Black Sea coast. • In order to receive the Krinkov kits in a timely fashion we made arrangements to have them transported to the U.S. via chartered aircraft. We are extremely proud of our latest accomplishment, as no other company that we know of would even consider going through all of this effort for their customers. Our highly valued clientele, most of which are advanced collectors and AK enthusiasts, would prefer to have the absolute best products available, that is why we have gone the extra mile to bring these kits to you. The 5.45x39.5 caliber Bulgarian Krinkov kits are brand new from the factory, not the military surplus. The kits include an eight inch barrel and even though we did not receive magazines with the rifles, we are including one thirty round magazine form our current stock. The regular price for this Krinkov kit is $699, as a valued MIG/ETA forum member you’ll receive a forum and online order discount making your price $649. Friends, this is it! These are the last de-milled Krinkov kits to be imported! We would like to thank Arsenal Bulgaria, Bulgaria export committee, everyone involved to make this sensational accomplishment happen. Thank you! www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=211&1=214&3=106 |

you have got to be kidding me.....i don't know how I can do it but by God I'll try
THANKS TIM |

Wow, amazing!
How many are there? Do members HERE get the $649 price? |
just register on the K-var forum |
Okay, I'm doing that. Thanks.
Oh, and I was at AIM Surplus today--they said they've got nothing else pending before the ban. Back to these krink kits--is this a good price? |
I think these are reasonable....consider a final built price is the same as the yugo krinks are selling for from retailers, plus you have a chrome bore and being bulgarian it's going to be worth more
So BRAND NEW M70 underfolders are going to be hitting the market soon? I can feel my wallet getting lighter...
ONLY $649 for forum members?
I gotta get another credit card |
I done went and some every other gun I have to buy kits... just before the BG krinks go t here.....
I don't know how, but I'm going to try to raise the money to buy one... DARN YOU K-VAR... !!!! |
Partially wrong...I have an AMD65 and an AMD63, yes, the AMD 65 gas tube is shorter, BUT the handguard is the same, the shorter part is up front so the handguard is the same and if you buy the kit and and pul the handguard of the AMD65 you should have an AMD63, of course I don't need to do that since I have both...whoop-tee-doo lucky me....too bad I have no $$ to puth them together |

OMG!!! I didn't know someone made a "bumpfiring underwater" smiley! |
