you gonna be da man!
everyone needs a big orange h-frame press out in the garage or shop! most people blow money on everything in life BUT tools/tooling. the man without tools will never learn nor will he be able to accomplish tasks on his own. the man with tools CAN DO! be careful with that press. steel under extreme pressure is nothing less than a bomb waiting to go off. |

Ditto on the safety issue of that press....
Don't hesitate to ask some of the guys on the board about steel under pressure. And take lots of photos of your first build when you get that press!!!! KF |

... What is a 12 toner? Most printing presses I've seen were only 3 tones, sometimes they had a forth color; magenta.

YUP!!! You'd be amazed at how deeply a chunk of steel can imbed itself in a cinder block wall, hahaha!!!( I know I was!!!) Sounds like someone's getting some nice tooling, though... - georgestrings |

Yep steel under pressure is dangerus. I had a cast steel piece break on me. Crushed sinus cavity on right side. Two broken teeth, lots of stitches and a broken finger.

OK, I seen several mentions of Plinker's jig. I have searched and I can't find the info. How can I get one?

when i end up doing an 'iffy' setup, i strap everything down with nylon ratchet straps and surround all but the area i need to see with plywood or wraps of old carpet....and i keep my head down.
wear safety glasses and think your next move thru twice. i can show you a dent in the control panel of an edm machine that was 40' from the press when a 2 lb. chunk of steel decided to go flying. i have a friend that sent a bbl. flying out of a lathe while polishing at high rpm's. no one was injured, but he got a free skylight after the ricochet off the ways. |
