I have a WASR-10 that is acting up when seating magazines.
It came with a 30 rd and a 20 rd magazine. The 30 rd snapped right in... you could hear the 'click' of the mag release lever as it snapped into place.
The 20 rd magazine didn't do that... it would seat in, no click, then after shooting a mag you'd have to use a block of wood to tap the mag release lever free. I figured it was the mag, so I dremeled a little bit off of the bottom of the tit that engages the mag release lever, and it now snaps in just like the 30 rounder. It must have been the magazine. Problem solved? Not quite.
I just got 3 Romy parts kits (with magazines). I tried to seat the magazines in, and guess what... no 'click'. The lever was doing the same thing to all three of the new mags as it was to the 20 rd mag. I'm hesitant to dremel on any more mags... should it be OK to take some off of the bottom of the mag release lever? The two original mags fit perfect now... do I have to worry about them being too loose to feed?
