Just got a new Vepr K in . 223 and .762 and I am wondering the main advantages, disadvantages to the two calibers. Which is better , worse and why. Also is there a folding stock available for these guns. Thanks!

The 762 hits alot harder than .223, magazines are plentiful and cheap, ammo is plentiful and cheap.
223 is more accurate, recoils less, weighs less, is more expensive than 762 and good 223 mags are not as easy to find.

Congrats! You bought some awesome guns! And welcome!

There is no "factory" folding stock as of yet, but Rob. Arm. claims it's on its way.

I just got a Vepr in 7.62 and shot it on Sat.      WOW !!! I've been shooting 5.56 for so long the Vepr felt like a AR on steroids. I shot some old Wolf ammo and it performed flawlessly. Shot a 7" group offhand @100 yds.  with the hard sights. I know what my new plinker gun is. Good luck with yours.

The VEPR certainly is the most accurate AK I have ever shot. Although they arnt cheap they are a real pleasure to shoot. I just cant get enough of mine.

The VEPR is a fine Kalashnikov platform.

Just don't let it spoil you - it's heavy.

Just don't shoot TOO MUCH of that 7.62 x 39......

Not a whole lot of it to be found out there.....

Yeah now that I have shot about 500 rds each gun I am really pleased. I hope I dont get flamed for this but I actually enjoy shooting the .223 more but I do like them both.

J/K, I have never shot the 223 VEPR, but I bet it's sweet in such a heavy gun.

Youve been flamed.
Now, I love hearing range reports. But I think we need to start dropping pics of our groups on here.

I've had many people comment on my VEPR being "heavy".  The manual says it's 8.9 pounds unloaded.  I love every bit of it.  Very "solid".  BTW, I have the VEPR II in 7.62x39.  Come to think of  it, the barrels are pretty solid, aren't they?

Yes, the barrels are a little thicker than a standard AK. Thats one reason they shoot so well.
