Heavyness is mainly bbl as I recall.
Holding zero is no problem. Learning the dials may be, kinda like your first shepards hook. |

The Barrel is heavy but you can get some relief by making change to the handgaurd. I know that on mine to imporve the balance I have an 8oz weight on the but stock

There still kinda front heavy, but still very nice, and accurate rilfes to shoot. |

Curious, but do VEPRs have Bayo lugs? And will they take standard polymer handguards?
