Picked this up at a local gun show and thought it was going to be for the Weiger? Now that I have looked it up on line, it does not appear to be of or for the Weiger!!??
Anyone recognize this odd ball? I call it a "Triple Step", as the mag has 3 distinct levels to the side body. IT will load 5.56. but the shoulder is too close to the second step down and does not appear to feed rounds well out of the lips. The 5.45 fits and makes more sense to me, but these will not fit in either my Bulgarian 74 OR my Romanian SAR2. The front weldment or mag latch is just too wide for these two guns I have. And if you notice, the read feed lip reinforcements are short in the length. They stop at the second set of ribs going forward. Weigers and almost all others I find on line have a longer feed lip weld piece. Normally they seem to extend forward to be even with the case mouth. The ones on this mag only go as far as the first bend in the case neck.
What AK-74 has a wider locking lug in front??
Thanks for the help.
Has been ID'd as a Yugo M85 mag. Thank you for that! Not sure I want to get into another AK platform based on this single mag. Will keep it for a while.
