I just got finished reading a post that stated that the Ulyanovsk Machinery Plant 5.45 x 39mm ammo in 70 grain FMJ was the stuff you need but don't want to use in less you have to! Was this just a sales pitch or is there somthing special about this round?

Some really like it, most do not. It weighs 70gr due to the lack of an air pocket in the tip. I would buy a box of 20 to test; I would  not buy a case to test. Your gun may vary, it does warrant a try, but not an investment in quantity up front.

What were they refering to when they said this?

Like RS39 said, it tends not to be as accurate as the 59-60 ammo, but some guns like it.

We will be testing it along with other ammo types when we finish our 5.45 testing.
