Does anybody have any experience with this stuff ? I happen to know where the are 3 1000 rd cases available, and I haven't shot anything but Norinco 7.62 (steel core and lead core) through my SKS'S and SAR-1.  I need to stock up because I am about to build a Polish PMKMS and a couple of Romy's.            Thanks.

I've never shot the Sapsan branded ammo, but have shot a few thousand rounds of Uly 7.62X39 and I consider it to be among the best Russian 7.62X39 there is.

It fragments real well, try on water bottles.

i shot a case of this stuff a while back when SG had it cheap. i wish i had kept it. it seemed hotter than most. kind of like that Red Hammer ammo. i suspect it was the same uly in a different box.

Funny you should bring that up dacat.  I get lots of practice with my Ruger Varmint in .204 shooting at 1 liter water bottles at ranges of 200 to 550 yards.   What a blast !!!!!

It's ULY ammo, and it is top notch.  I have about 3,000 rounds squirreled away and use it only for sighting in my 7.62X39 ammo.  It's like a poor man's Lapua.  I'd snatch those cases up if I were you.

Does anybody know where I can find some Sapsan ULY HP ammo?  Thanks in advance.

+1

I'm not sure if the stuff I bought from Military Gun Supply is Uly, see thread below this one, but I could sure use a case of actual UMP Uly.

I think the stuff from MGS is Klimovsk, and it may have corrosive primers.

Yea, from that pic I remember stuff that was about the same, it was older Wolf stuff.

Thanks.

Even if it doesnt fall through, would you mind selling a case or two to V42 and myself.  We have both been searching high and low for that stuff.

Sorry guys, I just bought 2 cases for myself and bought 1 for dad.  I'm goin' to keep it since the only other 7.62 x 39 I have is Norinco, and dad's only got East German steel core (we're goin' to keep this stuff stashed away for now).  I keep hearing Wolf will be coming back in soon, but what about Barnaul and Uly ?

Uly is the best SD/HD ammo made in Russia.  It penetrates deep and fragments very well.
