I was looking at K-Var for scope mountsfor my AK. Is the Ultimak mount that replaces the gas tube worth $90? Is the scope or point sight that far forward akward? Any rust, wear & tear, failure to hold zero?

BTT I'm curious as well.
How does the mount (and optics) hold up to the intense heat thrown off by the gas tube? How does it (and optics) handle thermal expansion and contraction during a mag dump? |

I think they're great. You should buy a couple.
