I bit the bullet today and laid down 5 bills for a black high-cap slr-101s. Should get it this week. My question is what should I get to clean and maintain it. So far my only experience is with AR's, so I don't even know what is involved in taking apart and cleaning an AK. To tell you the truth, I've never even fired one. What should I expect.

It's an AK. Go down and get a run of the mil, .30 cal cleaning kit and your good to go. Just clean the barell after shooting and use a rag to wipe the rest of the rifle down. Re-lubricate the necessary parts and your done. Hell some people almost never clean them.

Good advice above.

Brake Free - CLP- and a simple Mil spec cleaning kit will do it.
No worries.

On AKs are nylon brushes better than metal?
