Hey Guys, I was wondering if changing out the stock trigger on a MAK with an RSA is a job that can be easily done by yourself or if it is something that should be done by someone more experienced?  I'm not really sure what is involved or how complicated it might be and any info would be great.

It depends on how comfortable you are with taking things apart.  It's pretty easy to do but the first time is always tricky.  There are a couple of springs in there that have to be put back in an odd way and its easy to do it wrong.  If you have a manual with a diagram you should be fine.

Just tap out the cross pins while placing your palm over the top of the receiver so nothing springs out.  Memorize where the wire springs go  and make a little drawing if it helps.

I just put a Red Star trigger set in my Poly Tech MAK90. Easy job. Just get the retainer plate when you get the trigger group. The sheppards hook is a real kludge. Also, you'll like the trigger pull much better.

I put a RSA FCG in my stamped Polytech.  I love the trigger but the safety is going to need some work to fit.  Has anyone else had the same situation with Chinese rifles? If so would you tell how you did it? (file, dremel, correct angle etc.) Do you have to take the trigger assembly out each time to test it?  I really appreciate any help you all could give.
