Has anyone tried one of these or seen a good review? It'd be worth $50 if it was reasonably sturdy.

I have them on sale for $39 www.MidwestArmory.com They seem very sturdy to me and cant see them being a problem at all. I also have the Tapco folders and other items on sale. Feel free to check my site or shoot me a email if you have any questions. I believe RedHorseMan has them on all his Ak's and loves them ![]() |

excuse me for being too direct.
that thing looks fucking stupid see sig line |

I agree it does look a little ugly (on the AR also), but it is quite practical for children just learning to shoot a centerfire rifle. It keeps fitting them as they grow. My sons will be shooting the SAR-1 by next year.
I guess I won't win any friends by using this AR-like birdcage flash suppressor on the other end. hewww.bushmaster.com/shopping/ak/ray-009.asp http://www.bushmaster.com/shopping/ak/images/ray-009.jpg |

I should be getting some Ak birdcage flash suppressors to Im going to try to offer them cheap maybe $7-$10
That'd be great Duke, just make sure they are good at flash suppression and fit 14x1mm LH threads. Any idea on timeframe?
Im thinking a couple weeks tops hopefully less. From what I know they will be pretty much the exact same as the one you have posted but Ak threads. I might be getting some three prong ones as well I just have to wait to see what they have to offer. I can get them for Ar's as well and offer them for around $10 shipped would there be a market for them? I dont really pay much attention to Ar stuff

+1 Don't care for the look of an ARshnikov. Plus I agree with TheRedHorseman but didn't feel that direct this evening. ![]() |

Go for it. But if you have facial hair be prepared for the gap in the stock slide to grab you.
Do you know if an AK bayonet can mount over the Bushmaster flash hider? |
Yeah, ain't it great? It just looks so bad, I love it.
Look closely, it is an AK part. "Why don't you just get a polish underfolder like mine, it's so evil!" Honestly some of you guys take yourselves too seriously. |

hey ozone, hate to crap on your little parade here but that is in fact an AR15 stock with an adaptor to attatch it to the ak. the adaptor happens to replace the buffer tube but it is still an AR stock.
and I guess I do take personal preference too seriously. hey how about I put an SVD stock on an AR? |
So it's half of an AR part. SVD stock on an AR, huh? Interesting mental picture, I'll have to keep that in mind.

The birdcage flash suppressor I linked to is threaded 14x1 LH for an AK even though bushmaster is an AR company; they have a few other AK items also. Basic birdcage suppressors for ARs tend to sell in the $6 range and are commonly available (and commonly replaced with better flash suppressors like vortex and phantom) because they are the standard A1/A2 model common to military M16's. I'd focus on the AK birdcage model, the bushmaster website is the only place I've seen a decent FS listed in the $10 range. It should be a reasonably effective design and isn't that long which compliments the short barrel of a standard AK. I do believe there is a market for a $10 muzzle device that actually does something useful. It would be nice to have a common option of something other than the AKM slant muzzle protector or the AK74 type muzzle brakes (loud!). |

I really don't care about all of you saying how it looks, it's all about function. Sure I put one on my SAR-1, but otherwise my GF couldn't have been comfortable shooting it. And no im not posting pics, I am the only one who has to look at the abomination, and I can live with it, can you?
Oh well I guess I should get off of my soap box, I just wish someone would make an adjustable length stock that actually looks like it was made for an AK. |
That's a Big +1. Facial hair, especially mustaches, don't go well with the CAR style stock. Every time I use one, I loose some hair and some cursing generally occurs. ![]() |
This is the kind of information that is helpful. thank you! CAR stocks are somewhat fugly, but they do work especially when multiple-sized people will use the same rifle(s). I don't consider military rifles to be works of art anyway; serious tools, yes; art, no. |
