Well, since there's a shortage of 5.45x39 that isn't going to end anytime some. I been thinking of switching to .223 and selling my Arsenal SLR 105 with the idea of acquiring an ak in .223. Is it to premature to do it or just wait it out? The wait has already gone into 4-5 months. Opinions please!

You know the day you sell your 5.45 and aquire a .223 is the day the floodgates open on 5.45 ammo and the .223 dries up..

I like 5.45 but since it's not available via online sites and never available locally. Decisions have to be made. My stash of 1k rounds isn't going to last forever.

Don't switch. The supply is getting low for all 3 calibers, so it really wouldn't help either way. You can join the SPG backorder party... the ammo will get there eventually, and it is cheap.
