I obviously brightened up the photo quite a bit to get a better visual, but what is this fantastic gem we have here? It looks like a beast.

Are there enough U.S. parts to convert a Saiga 12 to be used with a pistol grip stock?

I almost bought one earlier this year.

If I can get full cap mags and a pistol grip I am fucking in.

that's the saiga 12-swat (that is apparently what it's actually called in russia). the magazine is 8 rounds.

on the saiga-12 forums, there've been all sorts of discussions but apparently mag-fed shotguns fall under a whole diff category from "assault" rifles. any detachable mag shotgun is limited to 5rds and you cannot have a folding stock. but you can have a pistol grip...plus, there's some bizarre, archane stuff about weight of the gun that figures in there somewhere...fucking atf...

having said that, the civ saiga12 is an amazingly sweet peice to shoot!

NEGATIVE!

a semi-automatic shotgun that has at least two of the following:
• 1) a folding or telescoping stock;
• 2) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
• 3) a fixed magazine in excess of five rounds;
• 4) and an ability to accept a detachable magazine.

#3 clearly says a FIXED MAGAZINE in excess of 5 rounds...nothing about limiting rounds in a detachable mag.

Saiga's come with one evil feature, #4. No mention of capacity limitation, so any mag is LEGAL. Want a pistol grip? Fix the parts count and you're good to go.

But who does the conversions and who will sell the mags?

i gotta have one.

Nice pics but they don't resemble the one in the photo.

Could you give some specs of the one in your pics?

The thread starter pic is a late model Saiga-12K, my pictures are of a early Saiga-12C.  The C is standard length, while the K is the short barreled one.  The Saiga-12C/K is in rapid evolution, so makes the subject confusing.  Most of the updates are just variations in sights, bolt hold opens, and furniture, but the same base gun.

Here are the two together in training:

has anyone contacted eaa and asked if after sunset, they will offer mags for sale? i love saigas, have 2 myself, a shotgun is on my list but the 5 round cap had me bummed. i would buy one the day after sunset if i can get bigger mags. pistol gripped, big magged shotguns make my heart flutter.

You could probably buy three for what one Benelli would cost.  That is one bad ass looking shotgun.

i thought the saiga12k had the skeleton stock, no mag well, and the standard saiga style forearm?

are any of these select fire? i can't quite make it out in the top pic...that would be fun (but quick)!
