What's the best way to "steam" a ding out of a stock? I have my greasy Yugo SKS stripped down and I'm ready to sand the stock down and refinish it with boiled linseed oil. There is one ding I want to try and get out before I sand it down. Do I just use the 'Ol lady's flat iron ? Any ideas ?

I was'nt sure on the oven cleaner thing. I figured I'd just clean the stock with mineral spirits.

Also try steaming the spot with a wet cloth using an iron. Just don't leave it on to long.
