I've never seen a maadi, but, I have owned a legend. It was the most bueatiful AK I owned. But, I traded it away because I like my stamped recievers better. I don't think you could ruin a legend if you tried. It is a tank! It is a awsome AK.

I can`t comment on the Maddi but I have a Legend and I love it.Believe me every AK guy needs at least one preban.

i prefer the steyr maadi. it's lighter and one of the more authentic clones of a commie akm.
my legend outshoots my maadi, but it weighs too much. it makes a nice wall hanger, but sure ain't fun to carry around for very long. both are of fine, quality construction. the steyr is a little nicer finished...and i think the chinese wood is nicer. guess i'ld have to ask you if you prefer the ak-47 or akm more. |

I dunno how much heavier is it. 1 ~1.5 lbs heavier? Hell, thats two Big Macs and an order of fries! Skip the Mickey Dees and get the Legend! If carrying it most of the time it is slung. Sorry I am just a fan of the milled 47s.

CampyBob , Except for the diff in the receivers (milled vs stamped) hence the weight what else does the AKM offer over the AK47 ? As a ex-Airborne Grunt I do understand the weight factor, but was not really thinking of humping this rifle much more than from the truck to the firing line or maybe from IPSC stage to stage. I am looking to get the nicest , prettist AK to put back for my kid. Thanks
