If you're interested in a .22cal AK, the ciener kit (with sub-caliber barrel, in 7.62mm) is another way to go...

I have one, it works well enough...

I just ordered mine from SOG yesterday. The FFL said it should be there Tuesday. It looks like an interesting addition to my growing AK collection, along with the Romanian WUM with bayo lug, bayonet, and F/S, which I also ordered from SOG at the same time.

ETA: SOG's also selling extra 10 round mags for $19.95 a piece.

Will these take any real AK parts, like stocks, grips, etc?

Davehal,

It's my understanding that it'll use the same furniture as a normal AK. IIRC, they're built on an AK-74 reciever.

Campy, I gave you the wrong box. Will look and see if there is a target in the right one. Think there was a cleaning kit too.

Edited to add: Yes, I have your target, manual and oil bottle.

I'm a complete noob with AK sites. All I have is a WASR 10. Could some one send me a link. What is the address to the SOG web site or who ever else sells these.

Johno,

IIRC, they were priced around $330 and are shipped with 2 30rnd mags. Their flyer said $280-ish, but that was a misprint apparently. They don't have them listed on the website. I saw them in the stores' SOG flyer. Their product code is something like AKWUM-##. Based on the product code, I'm assuming it's a WUM-1.

I actually got a great deal. My FFL is charging me $30 over cost to do the transfer. He also had an $18 credit with SOG, which he's letting me use on the two rifles. So, I'm really only paying $12 over dealer cost for them. Works for me.
