I have a NIB PAP that is one of the older ones with the # in the rear and I'm offered a like new Draco with 100 rounds through it. Would you trade?
I already have a 107UR SBR and a Draco-c with an underfolder and perm 5" flash hider.
Can't decide!
Current Draco

Yep, only on the serial number side, for obvious reasons.

Chrome lined barrel gets my vote.

i am bias

but with what you have allready why not leave the m92 as is. in yugo's non chrome lined is mil-spec

to me the yugo is one of the best looking ak's, in pistol form it is 100% yugo, and that will mean the most when they have dried up. they seem everywhere right now, but these guns come and go, or atleast since i've been paying attention it seems that way.

Go chrome....

Did you do the work?  If not would you mind telling me who did?

I have a old PAP that I would really like to get started on the way to SBR-dom

Are you going to shoot either enough to see the benefits of chrome?
Link Posted: 8/1/2013 4:37:38 PM EDT
The Yugo is a better short gun with the krinkov features.  If chrome is a deal breaker, the 556 Yugoslav guns are chrome lined.
Link Posted: 8/2/2013 7:16:54 AM EDT
My vote goes to the Draco.....go chrome or go home!
Link Posted: 8/4/2013 8:49:41 PM EDT
In the end I wish I didn't put the UF on my Draco.

what type of magazines do the 5.56 Yugo pistols take?
Link Posted: 8/7/2013 9:10:16 AM EDT
I agree. There is nothing like a good AK 100 side folder.

Thats a thread unto itself....

The best bet is the proprietary magazine.  Galil mags work with small mods.  Tapco Galil mags work as is, with some wobble.

Proprietary SUX!

Draco's ROCK!

At the time I was in the early stages of my collecting AKs, I am a bit of a purest, so I wanted what would be correct on a Draco. So my dumbass assumes it must have been an underfolder because of the trunnion, well I'm pretty sure it was a wire folder and so now it just bothers me me.

I have not seen a mini with a stock however there were a few photos of Dracos used in in Europe in the early 90's and they don't use underfolder stocks, looked to be some type of folder. Also went to Mario's ( pice of history) and he showed me one he was working on, it had a wire folder on it. The way I understand it he was doing that because it was correct to the gun.

Not talking about the mini Draco, I'm talking about my the Draco-c which is pictured above.
Look at this, this is what I'm talking about.

If I had a PAP and an opportunity to trade for a Draco, the PAP would be history. It doesn't take long to see the benefit of the CL, especially if corrosive ammo is used and the cleaning is forgotten or neglected for a while. I have seen a pitted Yugo barrel. It kept me from buying an otherwise beautiful pre-ban Yugo that was a great deal at the time. I haven't entertained the thought of buying a weapon with a non-chrome lined barrel since. It was that bad. I like being able to shoot and forget about the weapon for a few weeks and CL allows that.

CAI describes their Zastava PAP M92 PV Pistols, both the new and the old, as having "chrome plated gas piston, bolt and barrel" here: http://www.centuryarms.biz/search.asp
Search term is 'M92'

True, but that does not equal a  chrome lined barrel.

Could someone look at theirs please?

I know the M92's do hot have a chrome lined BBL. How about the gas block/sight?
Link Posted: 9/11/2013 11:47:59 PM EDT
I'm in the small boat, I'd keep the M92. From what I've handled fit and finish seems better.
