What can i expect? Would it be safe to shoot it? 80.00 for a semi-auto is a pretty good price.

Before the ban you could pick up Norinco SKS' for 90 bucks all damn day. The yugo's are slightly better made but lack the chrome lined barrel of the Commie one. I'd say go for it. Worse that could happen is it blows up and you die right?

You are not making me feel any better.

You'll be all right. The steel on an SKS is pretty tough. Doubt you'll have any problems anyway. Get it.

My shooter grade yugo SKS shoots just fine, although it was more than $80. Just be sure to take the whole thing apart and make sure everything is in working order, and not rusted or corroded. You will have to take it all apart anyway to remove the cosmoline. Here is a good website that tells you how to do so.
