I've heard the Russian .30 is actually .311", but recently read in an old reference manual that it's a true .308, so I dunno.  Tell it to me.

Russian 7.62x39 = .311
American 7.62x39 = .308


Will the same muzzle device work on both? Yes. Most certainly. .003 difference isn't near enough.

American 7.62x51 = .308



....correct also.

but i was referring to the american made Mini-30, which is a 7.62x39 which uses a .308 bore instead of the more common .311




fwiw... my reloading dies for 7.62x39 came with expanders for both .308 and .311

I put a FNFAL L1A1 fh on my AMD65. Works just fine. plus I can attach a bayonet to it, to piss off the antigunners.
