When you tap the trunnion, do you tap the receiver also? It seems like threading both at the same time, especially if they're clamped tightly together, will give you more thread surface for better engagement. Thoughts?

Not enough meat on the receiver to get a thread cut into it, at least on a 1.0 mm.  1.6 mm may be different.  If you're that worried about engagement, use rivets
