and you should vernier your muzzle to make sure you have enough stock to work with, as the muzzle diameter varies from rifle to rifle.

some are at .485" and some are as skinny as .460". your rifle may be larger or smaller.

a 1/2-28 external thread "should" have .492"...as a minimum...to get a full thread form. you "can" get by with less.

this is another reason i recommend installing the fsb and doing the job right. the adapters sometimes stretch things a little thin.
