Just did a search and got 14 entries from 6 months ago and now have more questions than answers. Not meaning to rehash; but some help would be welcome.

It seems they can be converted to take ak mags and ak furniture----but-----.

What the problem concerning the trigger assy.?

What the problem with the front handguard ? One guy wrote he had to cut it in half. Damn???

And last but not least (Is this legal?)!!

MRW covers that subject very well.

If you don't want to go thru the hassel of building one yourself Global Trades is putting together some real nice AK-74 copies out of Sagias. I talked to Jimmy Streetman at the Market Hall Gunshow last weekend and looked some over. There were real nice.

God thats beautiful.

Who did the conversion?
Is that standard Saiga finish or is it an aftermarket?
I want one now....I think a .223 though instead of my SAR3 I was thinking about....

Where are you at in Indiana tiredtoolman? If you are close to me you could have a look at mine or if you are going to Bulletfest you can try it out there.

I have the same rifle. It was actually converted by Hesse. Never has jammed of failed to fire. Was leary about getting one done by Hesse, but it has been great, more dependable than my SAR-1 and SAR-2.

Thanks Yankee I'm in the Fort Wayne area (mid north). I'm thinking ahead for some winter projects.
I still have to finish my 458 socom.

Thanks MRW that gives me alot to work with. I wonder how I missed that with my search?
