Just picked up a "new" SKS. Yugo, all numbers match. Even a book that came with the original rifle regarding build, maintenance, initial shoot-in. The gun is two months older than my wife (10/72).
Anyway, the gun is covered in cosmoline or like protectant. I need to thouroughly clean it before firing it, but I have no info on disassembly, lubrication, etc. and can't seem to find any such info.
This gun looks like its gonna be alot of fun to shoot.
Oh, picked up an M4 too.
Mineral spirits and brake cleaner are your friends.
*Completely disassemble the bolt and firing pin for cleaning* if you do nothing else (OK do the barrel too).
