With the SEAK III progressing nicely, is it to early to start talking about a SEAK IV? Anyone up for an RPK???

Link Posted: 1/25/2006 11:20:35 PM EDT
that would be nice but i doubt it.

Think ORF has them listed for 599... I'm sure with your connections you could hook us up
Link Posted: 1/26/2006 4:32:48 AM EDT
can't the SEAKIV just be Miss RSA clones? I'd buy two!

I vote for the Miss RSA plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The next project needs to be planned a little better. I will take responsability for this one. Parts need to be close at hand instead of three months away. Everyone ponder on it. I would like to be involved.

Yeah, riiiiiiiiight.............

Connections don't help pay the light bill, labor wages, etc.....

A $600 kit, plus 922r components, plus labor to assemble...could quickly cause the cost to skyrocket. SEAK III was our most expensive project to date.

I think everyone would like to see an inexpensive project on the horizon....but then again with rising kit costs, we may never see that again.......

Definitely worth discussing though...

inexpensive - just go buy a wasr or arsenal then. I think the seak projects need to stay on the exotic path. SEAK I was at the forefront of its time. SEAK II same thing - you didn't see any of these with the folder.. SEAK III - trend continues.

Lets not go cheap. I'm just saying stay somewhere in the 800-1300 range. A quality piece.

I almost forgot - with these seak projects Krink, you are AR15.com's LORD OF WAR

Yes, you do have connections - just beg . You're closer in driving distance to ORF than I am.

I'd love to see an RPK-74 for the SEAK IV.
I'd jump on that.

Maybe the 'used' kits from ORF could be the base, and there could be a bit of a price break for the group buy....come on Krink, I know you can work your magic. I'm dying to get a Plum 5.45 RPK.

But the mags, what about the MAGS!!!! Nothing like a sweet awsome custom SEAK with only one mag.

Ahh Mags... I love mags and you bet I thought of that. Our good friend Krink will hook us up on those. .. in all seriousness - that aspect of this deal would need to be addressed.

How about an fixed stock M70? An RPK would be nice but unlikely. How about underfolder AKMS? Polish or Romanian. parts are inexpensive and plentiful. I know it's plain vanilla, but unless you want to spend big bucks I don't see much choice. I dont think Tantal is what everyone wants. AMD63s would be nice but I have not seen many of the kits around and I am not giving up mine.
Link Posted: 1/26/2006 5:43:16 PM EDT
I would definitely be into an underfolder. I just got my Polish kit today!

Yes, that would be nice! Ya gotta love this...

But the thing is, with the price on those kits alone, I just don't see enough people putting up the cash for one. Does anyone remember back when it was looking like SEAK III might not even make it off the ground?? And that was "only" $875 for team members! I seem to recall KF posting that the whole project might be canceled due to lack of interest! I even went so far as to contact Sellars and ask what he could build for those of us who had already paid for a SEAK III, in case it went South. So yeah, I don't see an RPK-74 happening which is why I was thinking maybe a Romy, or perhaps even a Yugo if the kits could be hand selected. Any other suggestions? Let's hear em!

How about a 100 series clone? Mis-matched AKS74 kits $229, combo FSB/GB from Kvar $79, long brakes form AK-USA for the guys who can't go SBR$30, the others SBR. The parts would run under $500 on a group buy. Yes it would have the AKS74 side folder but if you source the poly one from Andrei it can be swapped later with just a little drilling out.

Any one like that?

I like the idea a lot better than a Romy, Polish, or Tantal.

I really like the 100 series idea. Been needing a 74 side folder anyways. I'd think with a bulk price on kits (at least 10) and receivers, we could get the parts under $450 or even less. I think the main thing is going to be finding a builder of high quality that can do all of these right in a reasonable amount of time. Also, I don't want to pay more just because it's a SEAK, than I could gather the parts for myself and have built.

certainly sounds like Inrange wants to be part of it again. I have no problem with that at all. His communication was top notch. The receivers were just out of his control and anyones control for that matter.

in all seriousness, where has miss RSA been? Is she missus RSA yet? Can I go on with life?
Link Posted: 1/27/2006 10:21:29 AM EDT
Inrange would be good for me, I just thought he was really booked up. If we can have a 50/50 pay thing like last time, that would be great for me!! How long til you guys get your SEAK 3's anyway?
Link Posted: 1/27/2006 10:23:19 AM EDT
can we get TAPCO to sponsor this one? I'm thinking a t6 stock, a railed forearm, dust cover scope mount with a high quality leapers scope, SAW grip, colored front sights, on a romy kit

Next 2-3 weeks we'll get our SEAK III's. I think INRANGE mentioned in this thread he wanted to be part of SEAK IV.. Also, the 50/50 works for me too...I can hide it from the wife a little easier

That one sounds good to me, too - I'd go for one.

Some of the other suggestions are intriguing but, as much as I like my AKs, I can't see paying a lot more more for my next SEAK than I did for my last SEBR...
Link Posted: 1/27/2006 11:57:30 AM EDT

I would love an Inrange built AK-104 or AK-105.
The top pics are of ViperEH's awesome rifles. These have the extended-length Krinkov style brakes to comply with the BATF's 16" barrel length.
