California stopped registering "evil" weapons in Jan 01, but if you are military and home of residence is another state, you can go to your nearest Department of Justice (Sacramento is one) and get your paperwork. $75 per gun.

Nice job man!  I'm thinking about getting a Saiga .223.  I'm still looking to see how much of a pain in the ass it would be to convert it to a real AK stock set.  I have to go with a .223 or the .308 one because that's all we can get in CT. now.  If it has a AK action and is chambered in 7.62x39 they can't sell them, if it's a AK action and in any other caliber it's legal.  How stupid is that?

Umm could you run this by me one moretime? I live in Kali but am currently in N.C. (army)
Does this mean you can take your rifles home and have them legally?
The $75 really pisses me off, but if i'm stuck in kalistan for ayear or two when I ets, I would love to take all the evil rifles I'm gonna buy back home with me and not be a felon...
