Was wondering how the Russians issue (7.62x39) ammo to their troops.  Every time we've drawn ammo (USN Seabees) from the ASP (ammo supply point) for field excersises, quals and deployments,  it's been in the wooden crates, 2 ammo cans to the crate, 840 rds (.223) to the can, in bandollers and stripper clips.  Does anyone know?  Also does anyone have any pics of Russian wooden ammo crates?

You will see pics of Chinese ammo which is packed the same way the Russians did it.
