So, what's the current issue Rooskie (or other Eastern Bloc country) issue handgun?

I was under the assumption that it used to be the Makarov and the Tokarev.

Have they moved away from that now?

Makarov is still issued. Tokarev is long gone from Russian service.

They have actually selected a new 9mm Nato full sized pistol, but dont know how many have actually entered service. Can remember the name.. Think MP-446 or something like that...

MP-443 "Grach" (Rook) is the military pistol.

MP-446 "Viking" is a commercial derivative.

That Viking looks kinda sweet ...

Just an observation. The safety is too far forward and too close to the slide stop/release. That will slow it down.

Actually, it works pretty good like that. The slide releas goes down, the safety goes down (off) in one motion.

Both are in Russian Military service.. I fired both of them in 2003 at a Russian military range.. I actually liked the Viking better.. There is a noticable different when shooting..

A pic from that day-

PB (suppressed version of the Makarov) is in the middle, 5.45 PSM is on the bottom...

One of those 5.45 PSM's just sold on GB for $2250. It came with 10rds of ammo I believe

Hornady makes a brass resizer, not sure if it cuts down and resizes 5.45x39.5mm casings or just necks down 9x18mm casings.

Looked familiar to me!

Bah, Ruger.

They probably stole the design from the Rooskies.

Steenkin' Ruger.
