Looks awsome!! What receiver did you use? A post-ban Romainian?

Thanks Troy...

No...a Steyr Maadi...A prop rifle used in the movie Red Dawn purchased from Long Mountain Outfitters 3 years ago for $750. Asked for the crappiest one finish wise he had because of what I was going to do with it.

Note the serial number S001586

Go to www.longmountain.com/movieguns/RedDawn and scroll down to the semi AKM used in the movie.

Sturm Out.

Sturm,

That's a nice looking weapon!  Who did your build?

Considering the fact that it was a "Red Dawn" gun, by converting it to a Krinkov, did it lose value?

Thanks KF and Jeep

Ted Marshall did and whether it did or not I dont know. It doesn't matter because as you'll probably guess...will never be for sale h
This project spent a two year prison term in Kansas before being paroled and sent to Ted

Trigger bump was added to the receiver as well

It's a nice looking weapon, but I was confused a bit earlier over the trigger bump.  I looked at my Post Ban Maadi, and saw no trigger bump.

So, did you use the "sleeve" method to put the 5.45 barrel in the 7.62 trunnion?

I saw your posts with detailed photos on the other board.  I would do a bit of research on the legalities of import markings first chance you get.

Nonetheless, it's a nice build.

Take care,

KF

Did you see 60 minutes tonight? It was on the Chechen hostage crisis from last year. Some of the video footage included an interview with one of the Chechen terrorists. He was holding a krink.

Krinkovs are awesome...plain and simple.

Wish I had the bucks and time to SBR all of mine.

Oh well....

Because there are no trigger bumps on Maadi's.

Only trigger bumps on imports are SARs as far as I know...The trigger bump was added to the receiver.

As far as legalities theres no laws I'm aware of from moving the importers marking to another part of the receiver. Removing it completely would be the crime. If you have a link to a law I'd appreciate it as I'd want to know for sure but I highly doubt Ted would do it if it were so. Just like its on the form 1 as a 7.62 build but now its a 5.45. A courteous letter informing of the caliber change to the NFA branch so they can upgrade their files is all I done and its not required.

Build details I dont know what Ted did except swap out the trigger guard for AKM type which is authentic. I left it in his hands to undo what someone else screwed up.

Very nice build. The Saiga's also have the trigger bumps, but unfortunately no mag well dimples. I have 3 5.56 saigas in various stages of conversion. Whats your builders contact info, Id like the proper selector marks and lettering put on my receiver (absent on the saiga receivers).

Ted's email is [email protected]

tell him what build you seen his work on...I've already informed him I'm getting a lot of question about his work.
