I bet a lot of you guys have these so I figued I'd ask what the quality was. How does the finish look and does it come with everything? Cleaning rod, kit and all the other parts? Thanks.

As new as an 86 dated kit can get. All matching, very pleased. Bocefus kit.

I have a 1980 made kit and it's in great shape. No visibly wear anywhere on the kit. It has the G painted on it.

Here's a link to my thread in the AK discussions with pics of my kit.

My kit has the G also. Also in great shape.
What was the purpose of the painted on G?

I have two dated 1983 and 1986, both with matching numbers. The 1983 I assembled into a pretty decent weapon so far. I did have to make some minor adjustments to the Vulcan receiver I bought.

As far as the G goes, I was blasted by someone here when I had quoted another thread about it being something that the Romanians had originally placed there. He said it was something that Scott from DPH Arms placed on there. Even though both my kits have the G on them, I only got one of them from DPH Arms. The other from another dealer all together. So who the hell knows what it means?

Anyhow both of my kits were very exceptional in finish and quality. I did however, redo the finish on my built one with a Moly Resin.
