What is the best way to remove the paint/finish from my SA-M7A1 Bolt carrier? Is this just black paint? This is my first Arsenal Inc. rifle and I am not impressed with the finish. It looks like black paint to me. We will see how it holds up after some abuse

Best way is to sandblast.

I sandblasted an entire sam-7. It took 4 hours. The paint on them is very very tuff.

Try this before you sandblast....

Take some acetone on a cleaning rag to the paint. If the rag gets black? You have original Bulgarian paint. If so? DO NOT BLAST. Get a can of ZStrip, or equivilant paint stripper from the hardware store & hit the carrier with this. Original Bulgy paint comes off VERY easily with simple paint remover, and leaves the original Park job behind. Blasting removes both.

SA M-7's are parked under the paint. You should have just used paint stripper and Gun Koted over the park for a "very" hard finish ...
