With ammo being what it is now, I'm surprised there hasn't been more chatter about it.

That said, I don't think it is available yet.

I had a few hundred rounds of Romanian 5.45, it was packaged in a plain white box with the same purple lacquer. The ammo is labeled non corrosive, I noticed it had less flash signature compared to 7N6. Other than that, I have nothing more to say.

I saw centuries add in shotgun news otherwise I would not have known about it.

meh. Century stuff, I seriously doubt there's anything special about it, just CIA branded ammo from one of the Russian Romanian plants that we already buy from under other names.

Not a bargain, price wise at this point.

Just repackaged remarketed ammo.   Probably at a higher price.

I wouldn't be suprized if the boxes were made in China and Century is just filling them from Spam Cans.

Price would have to be sub $200 per 1K for me to buy any.

What is the price?

Considering they want $300 for a case of 7.62x39 Hotshot and $236.87 for a can of  5.45 milsurp Bulgarian, wouldn't expect any bargains on the Red Army stuff.  Oh yeah, no free shipping either.

Haven't seen a price sheet on the new stuff yet, my rep wouldn't say when I talked to him last.  Maybe somebody else has more info.

I love the hotshot! I'm not sure if its just rebranded ammo or what?

A friend let me shoot a few hundred rounds of it last time he was back on leave, he got it years ago. I'm not the greatest shooter by any means but If I did my part I was getting 4-6 inch groups at 200 yards. That was 10 shots, benched, slow fire. I had wolf with me that day, I got that stuff in 08 during the first Obama thing and its a lot more inconsistent then normal wolf. I think it was just that batch but neither of us was shooting that good with wolf.

I also noticed at night time it seemed to make more sparks and flash compared to my wolf

I haven't seen green laquered Russian military ammo before, all the milsurp stuff we get here in the UK is red laquered.

He's talking about the cartridge case itself, not the neck/primer sealant.

FWIW- While earlier boxes of "Red Army Standard" were labeled as "Made in Romania", I have seen more recent boxes labeled as "Made in Ukraine". It appears reports on this ammunition will be dependent on who was filling the boxes for Century at the time.
