Ok, I've got all of the parts for the build and have had them for awhile now.  It's just about time to start on this project.  I still need to file the proper paperwork for the SBR build but I don't anticipate a problem them.  What I need to know though is who should I have build it for me?

I've got a Bulgarian side-folder kit, in brand new condition.  It's not a virigin kit though as the receiver stubs are still there.  I've got the trigger guard and rivet set with it.  I've also got a NODAKSPUD receiver that is cut for a sidefolder.

So, who would you recommend for a build?

If you're not in a hurry.....I can personally vouch for Red Jacket Firearms.
Will does excellent work.
It's just that build times are in the 3-4 month range at best.

Mario at Piece of History Firearms is currently building mine.  This is the second rifle I've had him build for me.  His workmanship and customer service are absolutely top notch, and depending on his backlog, he works pretty damn quick.

I've seen his work and it is good.  He is currently working on my Virgin M92 kit.

Thanks for the replies.  One reason I'm having trouble deciding on a smith is due to the range in pricing.  Some smiths charge around $450 or so for a build, and others charge almost twice that.

Is there really that big of a difference in workmanship between a $450 build and a $900 build?

I have had a build by Overland, AKusa, John at CAS Enterprises. and am having Inrange do one.

Im a little disapointed in Inrange at this point, he's had mine for almost 5 months now, I not sure how he shedules his work but I know with mine it is not in what order it came in. Inrange has done a whole group buy of AK kits that came in some time after mine arrived. Had I known this ahead of time I more then likely would have sent it to someone else.

I believe most builders you will hear about will provide a profesional assembly and finish.

Overland was very good with updates as well as getting it done the way you want it.
John at CAS Enterprises seems to be customer oriented as well as putting out a top notch product.

A good builder should only charge around $400 for a build, maybe just a little more if you have having custom engraving done.

Theres no sense in spending $900 on a krink build when you could just buy one already
built by a quality builder for around $1100.

Atlantic is selling some built by Red Jacket for $1089.
